b. Sets and communicates high expectations for social, behavioral, and academic success of all students.
c. Uses student’s developmental needs, backgrounds, and interests in planning for instruction.
d. Selects strategies to engage all students in learning.
e. Uses available resources, including technologies, in the development and sequencing of instruction.
When building lesson plans it is important to keep in mind that not every student may have access to certain tools. Internet, transportation, artistic supplies, even time can be something that some students simply do not have access to. We must be vigilant that our lesson plans do not exclude these students from the learning experience. Below is an example of a lesson plan I had built for a Fifth Grade class that I was fortunate enough to deliver. Each element was able to be utilized by each student, and was a lot of fun to do.
